Mixed media technique enables the author to combine material, which is the closest to her - ceramics together with handmade paper and natural materials.
The collection named The Sea was created by Kateřina Chamarel, who found inspiration in products of nature, which she personally found on beaches and other nearby locations.
The collection was created in 2016-2018, in times when she lived by the Tyrrhenian coast and it was introduced for the first time in 2019 at Florence Biennale.
PICTURES- COLLECTION THE SEA
,,The story of this collection started in the times that were ruled by the uncertainty. I was alone abroad for several years without knowing the language - therefore without any dialogue with anyone and expecting the finalisation of my own atelier in my new home. Staying with my son by the sea was the only kind of entertainment. And as I am the only non-swimmer in the family, I preferred long walks by the shore where I used to find a lot of interesting things, which could be used later. For what? I did not know that back then. And later, when I had my desk again, my oven and glaze, I started to sort the treasures that I had found on the beaches. Suddenly there were not only pieces of wood and shells in front of me, but plenty of sea creatures with their stories. And so I used my oven to melt my former insecurities into joy."
